How to Apply

Ingham Court
If you wish to apply for Housing in Edinburgh then you will need to complete an “Edindex” application form, these are available from Viewpoint office or City of Edinburgh Council housing offices.
Every week, Viewpoint’s empty properties are advertised in Monday’s edition of the Edinburgh Evening News and online at www.edinburgh.gov.uk/keytochoice. Edindex applicants can bid for up to three properties each week by completing a note of interest form printed in the newspaper, or via the website.
The bids will be ordered so that those in medical need are given the greatest priority, followed by those who are homeless, living in overcrowded accommodation or who are under-occupying properties. After that bidders are listed in order of who has lived in their property the longest. If you are successful, you will be contacted and invited to view the empty property. If you are unsuccessful you can keep bidding until you are contacted. For more information download the leaflet attached below or visit www.edinburgh.gov.uk/keytochoice.
If you are interested in applying for Loanstock housing or housing in the Fife area then please complete a Viewpoint Housing Application form and Medical Questionnaire (attached below) or contact the local authority in that area. Fifty percent of all our empty properties are subject to nomination arrangements with the relevant Local Authorities. This means that if you apply to the Council, they may nominate you for a vacant Viewpoint Housing Association property.
If you are interested in applying for housing in East Lothian and Midlothian then please contact the relevant Council for an application form as all our empty properties in these areas are subject to our nomination agreement.
