A beautiful lifestyle

Located in leafy Trinity, an exclusive area of Edinburgh, Lennox House is a stunning Victorian property, lovingly refurbished to create a beautiful, caring home. The décor is exquisite and period features have been combined with modern elements to provide exceptional levels of comfort. Bright, airy lounges on both floors have fantastic views of Lomond Park with its bowling green and tennis courts. Outside, our large back garden boasts a wonderful summerhouse and seating area, perfect for lazy summer afternoons chatting with friends. We’re always arranging activities, from chair exercises to movie nights, or a creative morning in the Craft Café, the choice is yours. Spacious and vibrant, at Lennox House, we’re here to help you have joy in later years.

All our rooms are single - occupancy, ensuite with wet floor showers. Our rooms are furnished with variable height electric beds and furnished with bed side locker, fitted wardrobes, telephone connection facility, are wi-fi enabled and can accommodate the resident’s own TV and personal electronic equipment. Each unit has an assisted bathroom.

Subject to fire safety regulations, residents can if they choose, bring small personal items of furniture, such as a reclining chair and decorative items in order to personalise their room. All our rooms comply with the National Care Standards.

Our gardens are designed to create a dementia friendly landscape for our residents where they can enjoy time with family and friends.

In collaboration with Impact Arts we provide a unique Craft Café experience where our residents are supported to explore their artistic skills. In addition, the home has a weekly activities programme, including outings in our own minibus.

Staffing arrangements

Lennox House has 34 bedrooms on 2 floors.  Usually the staffing arrangements for each floor is a minimum of 1 trained Nurse (RGN) and 3 Care Assistants during the day, all of whom have achieved or working towards an SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care. At night the home has 4 staff 1 of whom is a trained Nurse and 3 Care Assistants. The Registered Nurse assesses the needs of the residents and decides if extra carers are needed if and when the resident’s needs change.  In addition, we have a 24-hour nurse call system in our residents' rooms. We also make use of automated monitoring technology to ensure residents' safety and minimise the risk of falls. We have a dedicated Activities Coordinator who organises internal and external activities and outings for all residents who wish to participate.

Nursing and Dementia Care

Here at Lennox House we want to help you enjoy life and maintain your independence. Our nursing care team will be there when you need us, and are on hand around the clock to provide a first class, caring service. A service that’s specially tailored to your needs - we get to know you, your likes and dislikes and together we’ll work out what’s best for you. Whether assisting with personal care, managing long term conditions or dispensing medication, our shared values of compassion and kindness are at the centre of everything we do. We are always available to discuss any concerns you might have about your health and will always respect your wishes and preferences. Remember, we’re here to provide joy in later years and believe it’s important that this time is cherished and lived to the full.

The Craft Café

After the huge success of our fist Craft Café, we received funding to open our second Craft Café in Edinburgh in 2013. Run in partnership with Impact Arts, our Café is open one day a week, providing a fun, social and artistic environment. An inspiring place for those wishing to learn new skills, practice old ones or simply chat over a cup of coffee and cake. Read more about the café here.

We actively encourage social interaction and activity. We’re all part of this community and the more vibrant it is, the more fun we all have. Families and friends of residents are welcome to get involved too and we hold regular meetings to give you an opportunity to let us know how we are doing and to raise any concerns. Your contributions and suggestions are always welcome.

We always welcome visits from family and friends and you can drop by at any time during the day or evening, subject to the care and rest needs of individual residents.

We are always happy to arrange visits for prospective residents and their families

To visit us or to make an appointment for an assessment of a prospective resident’s care needs, please contact us on 0131 552 5774.

Gently buzzing. Like the bees in the two gardens.

Lennox house has the feel of a grand, yet friendly family home. Large south facing windows let light flood into beautiful, recently redecorated rooms. Soft, vibrant colours and plenty of warm yellow contrast with the period features to create a sense of calm cosiness with areas of exciting interest. Bedrooms are intimate, warm and full of character and outside two enclosed gardens are alive with activity in the warmer months. These delightful outdoor spaces are real suntraps and a pond adds to the feeling of sophisticated tranquillity.
Lennox House is the best of both worlds. Calm and relaxing when you want it and exciting and vibrant when you fancy a bit of stimulation. The nurses and carers here are a happy, hospitable team who encourage fun and joy. Children and pets make frequent visits, which adds to the gentle buzz of the place and there’s always plenty going on, whatever your ability.
