We are looking to recruit a skilled, motivated and enthusiastic IT professional with a background in application support, integrations and SQL, and the flexibility to provide general IT support across the organisation when required. You will bring a customer-focused attitude coupled with the ability to “get the job done”, adding real value to our Business Support IT team.

Working within our Business Support IT team, you will play a vital role in shaping the service we provide to over 200 internal users across sites in Edinburgh and Fife.

Key responsibilities will include delivering an outstanding customer-focused application and technical support service. You’ll respond to requests via email, phone and in person, supporting users across our business applications, integrations, databases and general IT environment. This varied role also involves maintaining and improving our application landscape, supporting APIs and data flows, contributing to light coding or scripting tasks, and assisting in the rollout of new systems as older applications are phased out.

Given the nature and size of our organisation, this post requires someone who is comfortable switching between complex application issues and day-to-day general IT support—including troubleshooting desktops, printers, networks, and user access. This job is about more than just supporting technology; it’s about empowering our people to get the most from it and delivering a high-quality service at all times.

You should have:

  • Ideally an ICT-related qualification and/or at least 2 years’ proven experience in an application support or technical support role.
    • Strong experience supporting business applications and working across multiple sites.
    • A solid understanding of APIs, integrations and data flows (REST, JSON, etc.).
    • Some coding/scripting ability (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or similar) to support automation and integration tasks.
Strong SQL skills including writing queries, analysing data and supporting SQL-driven systems.
    • The flexibility and willingness to provide general IT support alongside application support.
    • Outstanding communication and people skills.
    • A commitment to customer care and continuous improvement.
    • The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
    • Experience with MS Office, Windows Server, Azure and MS SQL Server.
    • A full driving licence.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Standard Disclosure check.
